Shoe fabrication
Our shoes are produced in both Spain and Asia. The Asian factory manufactures the shoes in Fujian province, complying with European standards in all respects. This means that the workers enjoy a five day workweek in which they are paid for each hour worked and where women earn as much as men. Additionally, the manufacturing company is a certified member of Business Social Compliance (BSCI) - the BSCI Code of Conduct is one of the highest certifications for Fairtrade. Business Social Compliance BSCI was launched in March 2003 by the European foreign trade association, which is based in Brussels. The BSCI sees itself as a common monitoring system for implementing or improving social standards in supplier countries. All BSCI certified members, including our manufacturers, are committed to these standards. The factory only has an output of 500 pairs a day, which in the world of sneaker production is actually quite low.
